The Boom-mer-rang packaging, designed by Jessie Woo Fernandez of Sicicom, draws inspiration from the ocean to create a unique and eye-catching design. The use of blue and green tones, reminiscent of the ocean, combined with wave elements, adds a sense of movement and dynamism to the packaging.
What sets the Boom-mer-rang packaging apart is its ability to bring together two significant colors in a contrasting yet harmonious way. The packaging uses wave elements and ocean tones to support and match up the differences between the colors, creating a visually stunning effect when the product is displayed.
The design of the Boom-mer-rang packaging is realized through folding box technology. The folded dimensions of the packaging are 240 x 195 x 95 mm, providing a compact and convenient solution for packaging marine binoculars.
One of the main challenges in creating the Boom-mer-rang packaging was finding the balance between a serious and fun design. The goal was to bring out a sense of joy and pleasure despite the relatively serious nature of the product. By using attractive coloring and simple yet striking elements, the packaging successfully interacts with the product and creates an eye-catching presentation to the public.
The Boom-mer-rang packaging project started in April 2014 and was first exhibited at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September of the same year. Since then, the brand has continued to use this packaging, presenting it at the Paris International Boat Show in December 2016.
The Boom-mer-rang packaging has received recognition for its design excellence. It was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in 2017, which is given to well-designed, practical, and innovative creations that meet professional and industrial requirements. This award highlights the packaging's integration of industry best practices and competent technical characteristics, contributing to a better world.
